From Rebecca Pearcy
Week blah blah blah
Adam Lucky is incorrigible. (I thought it was spelt encouragable… oh dear, back to pre-school for me)
I would like to start this blog by saying I have been going through a truly insane week this past week. Insane in the context that, I, Rebecca Pearcy have slowly been going insane. I had presumed maybe it was down to a lack of sleep, or lack of vitamins or the fact that my whole life is devoted to Actors Guild of Lexington… I wake up come to work, have a lunch break, go back to work at AGL then have dinner, then go to rehearsals at AGL, then I go to bed. Even though I love it, which I do, I had thought maybe this was partly to do with my insanity. It has come to my attention that it is none of the above; it is in fact Mr. Adam Luckeys fault. Now, I am not one to place the blame, (total lie), but I have noticed that Mr. Luckey likes to entice me to act completely mental. For example, Marcie, Adam and I are waiting for our WKYTV interview and we are all very calm when Adam decides to make comments that make me laugh hysterically, jokes that I will not disclose on here due to their nature. This slowly makes me louder and louder and then he thinks it is a good idea that we practice our waltz and ending which involves him flipping me through the air, (we have yet to persuade Ave that the flip is an important dance aspect to the waltz) in the middle of the WKYTV recording studio. Of course, this ends in even more hilarious outbursts. Oh shame on us. Now the interview went fine and we were very respectable and mature and nobody saw us acting like complete wallys. However, it was at that moment where I was sailing through the air into a back bend over Adams shoulder that I thought this is your entire fault Mr. Luckey!!!! I would be on my way to becoming a mature young lady but nooooooooo, Adam decides to hinder my progress into adult life and make me the goof ball that the cast and crew have been witnessing this past week.
Ok, maybe it is not all Adams fault, maybe I have a tendency to act like a complete moron but I had promised Adam that I would reveal his secrets and let the entire world know of his secret plan to corrupt me and drive me slowly insane. THE END.
But SERIOUSLY, I would like to apologize for my erratic behavior this past week. No it is not Adams fault or enticing I think it is down to a lack of sleep and not eating the right foods. But now I am aware of it I went to the gym, ate some cous cous and now feel fine! Wahoo!
So, let us not talk about the past but the future. I think everything’s coming along quite swimmingly. We have all had our moments of brain deadness and so I know things can only get better! Why is it, there is always that one instance towards the end in the rehearsal process, whereby every actor has at least one moment where their world in the play collapses and their lines disappear from their memory. Mine has occurred through my insane week whereby others have had that day of struggle. Why was mine a whole week????!!! Oh, narcissistic, see there I go again, me, me, me….
Anyway, the future. Can I just announce scene five was fabulous yesterday?!?! I loved it!!! I thought whatever you guys did with it, it was absolutely wonderful and I was completely engaged in everything! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND scene six! PHWOR!!!! There was so much chemistry on stage that I felt the hot flushes and ripples of excitement through my entire body, go Septimus and Mummy!
Tonight is our costume parade, but I do not have a slip so I am naked underneath my see through dress, this may prove to be a problem. I can not wait to see Judy and Pearl and everyone dressed in their romantic clothes! I love Hayley’s Bo-Peep dress! O isn’t theatre fun! Next week is tech week and then we all get to sleep again, well on Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays anyhow… (Is that a word?)
PLAUTUS IS IN THE HOUSE!!!! Plautus/ Lightning/ Rock/ Aristotle/ whatever you want to call the tortoise is now a much loved member of the cast. He joined us last night and I immediately became obsessed with him. Oh, he is such a cutie!!! He just wants to walk around the table eating all the books and papers and especially the apple! I am so excited to do a proper run through with him to see what mischief he can come up with. But to be honest, how much mischief can a tortoise cause?????
Questions, comments, opinions all welcome.

I will not take full responsibility for Bee's "walliness" or whatever made up slang she seems to spout out here and there. I'll take responsibility for a lot of it, but I can't take all the credit. Actually, that door was cracked a long time ago, I just helped open it a little further. And truthfully, she would have never needed my help in the first place. She didn't have far to go to go crazy, you know what I mean? Yeah, I knew you would.
In all seriousness, I want to sing Becky's praises for a second. She loves theatre and you can tell. Her passion for it is undeniable, her energy is limitless (no matter what she wants to tell you), and her brain is attached good and proper. I have rarely seen actors take direction, suggestions, and "food for thought" as strongly and quickly as Bee. Her work in this production has been a joy to watch, and can't wait to watch it continue to grow.
Now that the love fest is over, I can get back to making Becky's life.............rough.
