Boston Marriage, January 20
I went to the rehearsal. I didn’t have my lines.
Gina shaky, but better practiced than I. Laura pert, on cue, refreshingly droll and gamine. We went through twice, calling “Line!” every other sentence. Humiliating. Instructive. It served to cement some rather difficult transitions, so all is not lost.
Tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock. Tempus fugit.
The same tomorrow, until we get it right.
I wonder what Jack is feeling. If he is as sanguine as he appears to be. If he still has faith in me, in us, in our schedule. Yeoman-like service gives our Jack!
I am beginning to see what Anna loves in Claire.
And how alike Gina is to her character, as am I to mine. She – rooted in the earth. I – tethered by the flimsiest of strings.
