"Scene and be Seen"Apr 7th, 08 Actors Guild of Lexingtonto celebrate Ron Hutchinson’s charming comedy Moonlight and Magnolias with its first ever “Scene and be Seen” event.
Moonlight and Magnolias provides the ultimate insider's view of how three passionate men transformed the failing production of Gone with the Wind into an epic masterpiece. The Academy Award Winner for Best Picture, Gone with the Wind premiered on the silver screen in 1939, the same year as an improbable wealth of cinematic classics: Wuthering Heights, Goodbye, Mr. Chips, Beau Geste, Of Mice and Men, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Intermezzo, Another Thin Man, Gulliver's Travels, Ninotchka, Dark Victory, Only Angels Have Wings, Gunga Din, The Rules of the Game, The Women, Dodge City, and on and on. At Spindletop Hall -- another landmark from the late 1930s -- Actors Guild of Lexington presents “Scene and Be Seen: The Golden Age of Hollywood”.
