If it be not now, yet it will come
October 3
I'm losing the battle with the elements. They are taking over my body and giving my immune system a workout. Hooray! My first cold of the season and it comes at such an opportune time. There are many of us in the cast and crew that have been fighting bugs and such. I guess it is better to get it out of the way now. Unfortunately, none of us have the time to concentrate on getting well. There is already enough to concentrate on. I think NyQuil is going to be my close friend for the next few days.
It has been a stressful few days in the rehearsal hall. Ill children, ill actors, the stress of trying to get the words and intentions under our belts, and the impending dates that loom over us have created a sense of individual urgency that everyone can sense. I know of at least one of us that has spent a few sleepless nights over this show. (No, I'm not talking about Tech Director Scott Sherman. Anyway, he's a vampire.) Then again, we didn't have one or two of those sleepless nights I'd be a little more concerned. As long as those few days
I got a copy of the first act's storyboard today. Kirby and Gail's work is going to blow people's minds. They have no idea. It is going to be a feast for the senses. I'm doing some film work this evening as the Ghost. I have an outline of what Ben and I are going to shoot and I'm pretty excited. It is going to turn into another long evening. Monologue work at 5. Fight call at 5:30. Act 1 (up through 3.3) rehearsal at 6:00. Filming scheduled to begin around 9:00. This would be an easier task if I were 100% healthy. Unfortunately, I am running at about 74.43%. Eyes focused. Head down. Breathing steady.
Ups and downs.
Highs and Lows.
Advances and retreats.
All part of the process.
Off book tomorrow.
Words. Words. Words.
Oh yeah. My daughter turned 11 yesterday.
